The Diary of a Desperate Naija Woman

The first thing that struck me as I started reading the diary was how much the writer; Bola 'Salt' Essien-Nelson loved God. You could feel her love come alive in each blog it gave me goose pimples.

The diary consists of her daily blogs throughout year 2010. I truly admired her determination and diligence in keeping a regular blog year after year. I still struggle to get one or two out a month. Bola has inspired me to focus more.

As you read each blog, you get into Bola's daily life then - this was five years ago. The diary gives you an incredible insight into her thoughts, her good days and off days. She was opened and candid about her life, which made me want to know more about her journey since then.

The diary is now transformed into the Salt Chronicles and for those who want to have a real time update on the diaries check her at A fabulous site I have to say, full of insightful knowledge and practical ideas; from books to read to healthy lifestyles. Her new book True Confessions is now available.

  1. Wow! Adeola, thank you. This just made me truly realise that I've been blogging for 6 years! Come on! In 6 years, I've published 5 books. Even I am stunned. The books have done OK money wise but I promise you....the reviews, the mails from people who have read the books and been blessed......that's my real profit. Thank you Adeola!
